'Yukon' Brad Booth cashes in the $15,000 Fiesta al Lago Main Event.

With a field chock full of top level pro's attracted by the $1.4 million first place prize generated by 368 players buying in at $15,000 each, Brad Booth remained amongst the chip leaders until he busted in 22nd place for a $31,095 payday.  His next event is the Caesar's $10k event starting Tuesday, October 28th.  Stay tuned for results on what will prove to be yet another pro-heavy field.
 
Yukon Brad Booth hosts and wins Vancouver Poker Tournament

Details are hard to find on this event, however host Brad 'Yukon' Booth won the Vancouver Downtown Showdown Poker Tournament.

Poker Star, Brad Booth is a very colorful character who is home grown from Mission, BC where he started out as a pizza delivery boy at the Mission Little Caesars - Booth’s pizza gig financed his Poker career!

Considered by many poker superstars to be "the best unknown no-limit hold'em player in the world"— a label first bestowed by Phil Hellmuth on Card Player's "The Circuit" radio show, Canadian Brad "Yukon" Booth has firmly established himself amongst poker's elite players. This past June he played his way to a 3rd-place finish in the World Poker Tour's Mandalay Bay Championship, earning himself a hefty payday of nearly $320,000.

Dates: Friday September 19 - Sunday September 21
Edgewater and all the Poker tournament players will celebrate Brad’s birthday on September 20.

Buy-in:  $500 + $50; Prize pool if sold out will be $250,000
 
Diamond Tooth Gerties White Ram Poker Tournament Series

We don't have full results from the White Ram tourney series, however Whitehorse player Blake Wildfong took second in the Limit Hold'em w/rebuys event,  well known rounder Jerry Carter took second in the No Limit Hold'em w/rebuys event, and another Whitehorse player, Derrick Law took third in the new $520 NLHE freeze out event.

Yukoners cash in BC's Coast to Coast Tournament Series

This series of tourneys at the River Rock casino in Richmond, BC, was hosted by 'Yukon' Brad Booth and Gavin Smith who is originally from Guelph, Ontario (hence the Coast to Coast title... yes, we know that Guelph isn't the other coast, but it's pretty far away!)

Yukon fielded about 10 players for these events and James Lopushinsky (twice), Sam Jurovich, and Brad himself  cashed in separate tournaments.  Pictures and more details to come.

Two Whitehorse Players Win Seats

Kayce Edstrom and Sam Jurovich each won a single table satellite, earning them a $1100 seat into 888 Poker's $3 million dollar guaranteed tournament held online on April 26th.  Best of luck to you both and we'll be cheering you onto the final table!

Congratulations to Whitehorse resident Darrell Peters for besting a field of 62 entrants to take first place's $3000 prize. Seven places paid out, I hope to have full results soon.

Darrell got heads up with Shane (last name unknown) in a repeat of the 2005 Dawson City White Ram final table where Shane took first to Darrell's second place finish.

 
2008 Canadian Heads Up Poker Championships

Heads-Up Entertainment has announced the second Canadian Heads Up Championship series at the Deerfoot Casino in Calgary on March 5-9, 2008.  Confirmed players include: Jennifer Tilly, Phil Laak, Antonio Esfandiari, Joe Hachem, 'Yukon' Brad Booth, Greg 'FBT' Mueller, Huck Seed, Mel Judah, Gavin Smith, Bill Edler, Dave Scharf, and reigning champion James Lopushinsky.

UPDATE: Reigning champ James Lopushinsky made the final 16, but was defeated before the money payouts for 8 and up. 

1996 WSOP Main Event champion Huck Seed bested 'Yukon' Brad Booth in a best of three to win the 2008 Canadian Heads Up Championship.  Huck takes home $100,000 for his win, while Brad claims $50,000 for his runner up finish.  Congratulations!!

Dawson City's White Ram Poker Tournaments

Diamond Tooth Gerties held the annual White Ram poker tournaments on the the 8th and 9th of September. The limit tourney was on Saturday and attracted 90 players.  Tthe no limit tourney on Sunday attracted 103 players and had a prizepool of over $55,000!! First place was over $19,000!!   Please see the forum for complete payouts - congratulations to all players that cashed, and thank you to Diamond Tooth Gerties and the Klondike Visitor's Association for hosting this very popular event!
 
Yukon Brad Booth hosts Edmonton Poker Tourney

Yukon's Derrick Law places second in 2006 BC Poker Championships

Whitehorse poker player Derrick Law survived through a field of 784 to make the final table at the BC Poker Championships where he started 7th in chips and battled into a second place finish for $290,000.
